Make it Happen - CALED's 39th Annual Training Conference
KMA is proud to be a "Business Builder" sponsor of the upcoming CALED Training Conference "Make It Happen", being held March 27 - 29 in Anaheim, CA. Jim Rabe, as the California Academy for Economic Development Regent, will be one of the Masters of Ceremony at the kick off "Celebrate Success Luncheon". In this role he will update attendees on the activities of the Academy over the past year.
Debbie Kern, the Managing Principal of KMA's Northern California Office, will be a panelist at a breakout session called "Current TIF Tools for Your Community".
"Learn the latest trends in tax-increment financing and how cities can take advantage of this economic development financing tool. Panelists will talk with different communities throughout the state that are using TIF and see how they made it work in their communities and how they have encouraged participation from their County counterparts."
Kathe Head, the Managing Principal of KMA's Los Angeles Office, will also be a panelist, participating in the break out session "Housing as an Economic Development Tool".
"Many businesses choose locations in communities providing affordable housing options for their workforce. This session will demonstrate how new housing construction is increasingly seen as contributing to economic growth; it’s a major employer with significant multiplier effects, revitalizes neighborhoods and stimulates connections between residents, employers and businesses."
